Bali has splendid treats for lone travelers and wandering couples, but families will be especially thrilled with all that the island has to offer.
Discover The Best of Bali With Our Insider Review – Pak Made, General Manager at Anantara Vacation Club Seminyak Bali
Anantara Vacation Club Seminyak Bali’s General Manager, Pak Made, has some recommendations for families who are planning to spend a holiday break on the beautiful Island of Bali.
Q: Can you recommend some special activities for a family vacation at your resort?
Families will enjoy the pizza-making lessons with our chef at The Club Deli. Everyone loves pizza, so we always recommend this activity. During pizza-making classes, participants choose their own toppings and create their very own pizza. The best part is that after they’re done baking, they can sit down and enjoy their creation.
For families looking for more cultural experiences, I recommend canang making. Canang is a small, square-shaped coconut leaf basket that is filled with local flowers. Balinese Hindus make offerings of canang as part of their daily ritual.
Q: What special activities do you recommend for family bonding?
Going to the world-renowned water park, Waterbom Bali is one of the more popular choices for families visiting Bali. There’s something about giant water slides and a lush tropical setting that draws families in for a fun bonding time.
We also recommend Bali Bird and Reptile Park to those who prefer nature parks. Kids will be delighted with the variety of birds found in the park which houses over 250 bird species. The reptile park is just close by, so we often recommend guests to make trips to both parks.
Q: What is there to do near the resort?
Compared to the neighboring beach at Kuta, Seminyak is known to have a more relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. It has fashionable high-end restaurants and bars. Guests will also be happy to know that Seminyak is the high-end spa and boutique shopping capital of Bali.
Those looking for some peace and quiet will find Seminyak beach a great place to be, especially during the day. For a totally relaxing beach experience, take our complimentary shuttle to Seminyak beach. You can also take surfing lessons in Seminyak. In the evening, enjoy the beautiful sunset from the roof top of MoonLite Kitchen and Bar at Anantara Seminyak Hotel.
There are yoga sessions at Anantara Seminyak every day at 7.00 am at the beach deck area. It’s an excellent option for vacationers who want to maintain their exercise routines while on holiday.
Q: What are your personal 5 must-do and must-see experiences in Bali?
Go on a full day tour of Ubud, and have lunch in local restaurants serving traditional Balinese food to get a taste of the island’s finest cuisines. Take a brief respite from island life by going on a peaceful mountain retreat, particularly in the village of Bedugul. Learn a bit of history by visiting the palaces of Ujung and Tirta Gangga. And finally, go on an adventure with the family by rafting down the Ayung River. There’s plenty to do and see in Bali, but these five will make any family trip a vacation that they won’t soon forget.
