Looking Back At 2016 and Planning For The Year Ahead

It’s been a busy past twelve months at Anantara Vacation Club! As the year winds to a close and we gear up for the holiday season, we’re taking a look back at some of our favourite recent moments and achievements before starting up new projects in 2017.

Throughout 2016, we continued to grow and evolve with the opening of Anantara Vacation Club Chiang Mai and the addition of Club inventory at Anantara Vacation Club at Riverside Bangkok. The Family Fun Programme was launched at Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao Phuket, offering our Owners and their guests an extensive selection of activities tailored to all ages. It was met with widespread positive feedback and has increased the resort’s appeal to families from a range of cultural backgrounds. Renovations at Anantara Vacation Club at Oaks Shore, Queenstown in New Zealand were also completed to unveil a modernised, updated resort!

Our offerings in China were further enhanced by a partnership with three of Dorsett Hospitality International’s properties in the cities of Wuhan, Lushan and Chengdu through the Global Traveller programme. Moreover, a number of Tivoli hotels across scenic Portugal were added to the Club Escapes programme. The country was recently named as the most sought after destination in Western Europe and won a host of awards courtesy of Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler magazines in 2016. Properties across Australia, Sri Lanka and exotic Zambia also joined the Club Escapes portfolio.

In order for our Owners to enjoy greater flexibility, we added a Japanese language option to our customer service portfolio, implemented a call back request function and introduced live chat to our website this year. An enhanced welcome call service was also developed to answer new Owners’ questions and provide more information about the Club’s services, terms and conditions. A number of new management roles were created across Asia and the Middle East to keep up with the company’s growth, including the appointment of Maurizio Bisicky, who possesses extensive experience in the timeshare and hospitality industries, as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

In 2017, we plan to strengthen our position in Thailand by constructing a number of villas and apartment suites at our flagship property in Phuket. The project is set to begin in the middle of the New Year and will allow Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao Phuket to nearly double in size. The Club also plans to establish our presence in the United Arab Emirates by capturing a rapidly developing market in the region, pending the release of a new law in Dubai regulating the timeshare industry. With over 1,500 nights booked in the UAE at Anantara Hotels in partnership with Anantara Vacation Club in 2016, we recognise Club Points Owners’ growing demand for inventory in the United Arab Emirates and plan to expand upon it in the New Year.

From all of us at Anantara Vacation Club – season’s greetings and happy holidays! We thank you for your continued support and can’t wait to hear about your travels in the New Year. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best in 2017.
