Why I Chose Anantara Vacation Club: Interview with Club Points Owner Kim Williams

As one of our founding Club Points Owners, Kim Williams has been with Anantara Vacation Club since February 2011. Since then, she’s travelled to our Club Resorts and Club Escapes destinations over 10 times, with two trips already planned for the New Year. As an Elite Platinum Club Points Owner and a mother of three, we spoke with Kim to learn more about why her family travels with Anantara Vacation Club and hear about their memorable vacation moments.

Hi Kim, thanks for speaking with us. Why did you choose to become an Anantara Vacation Club Owner?

Being based in Singapore, we were impressed by the variety of resorts and hotels available to Anantara Vacation Club Points Owners within Asia and neighbouring continents. Within just a few hours, our family can be exploring a new destination while enjoying the convenience of the spacious accommodation options on offer.

When we looked at the cost of travelling to a selection of luxury resorts in Asia and beyond as a family of five, we found that the total price for a holiday was double or triple that of an individual getaway with Anantara Vacation Club. The value that becoming a Club Points Owner provides to families is undeniable. I can confidently say that we would not be able to enjoy holidays of the same quality at a better price by booking in directly with resorts or through third party reservation websites. In fact, we started as Elite Jade Owners in 2011 and have since upgraded to the Elite Platinum tier because we were booking stays with the Club so frequently.

What has been your most memorable AVC experience to date?

I would have to say that the Elewana Sky Safari we went on in Africa through Anantara Vacation Club’s Royal Adventures programme was by far my most memorable moment as a Club Points Owner. From the quality of accommodation on offer to the plane transfers between destinations and the exotic wildlife our family witnessed, the experience as a whole was unforgettable. I would highly recommend an Elewana Sky Safari to any Club Points Owner and their friends or family members.

Which Anantara Vacation Club resort is your favourite and why?

From the selection of Club Resorts, I really enjoyed Anantara Vacation Club Bophut Koh Samui. The beachfront location is ideal, while the spacious and well-designed villas were a comfortable choice for our family. As part of the Club Escapes programme, we really love the properties on offer in the Maldives. We’ve stayed at PER AQUUM Niyama Maldives and Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort and would go back in a heartbeat. There is nowhere else like the Maldives in the world. The water is the clearest turquoise blue, while the atmosphere and natural beauty of the small group of islands is unparalleled. We also enjoy the Oaks resorts in Australia for their convenient location and family-focused amenities.

Which resort features do you enjoy the most?

The size of the accommodation on offer is especially beneficial to our family of five and was a key factor in our decision to become Club Points Owners. We often book the two bedroom suites at Club Resorts, allowing our children to have their own room and for us parents to have our own space!

Which property do you plan to visit next?

In April 2017, we’ll be heading to Anantara Vacation Club Chiang Mai and Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp Resort & Spa in Chiang Rai. Our family is looking forward to exploring Thailand’s northern capital of Chiang Mai and visiting its night markets, temples and mountains. We will make our way  to Chiang Rai soon after and can hardly wait to meet the elephants at Anantara Golden Triangle!

How has your experience been in terms of availability?

As we travel with three children, we consistently plan our vacations in advance while taking into account school vacation periods or public holidays. I would say that on average, we book our getaways at least 12 months ahead of time and have never experienced any issues with availability. We’ve always managed to secure our first choice in terms of resort and destination.
