Golfing in Phuket with Jack Munro
If a relaxing holiday including a round or two of golf is what you’re after, Phuket is one of the best places in the world to find yourself. One of my favourite courses in all of Asia is the Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket.
Blue Canyon offers a choice of courses- Canyon or Lakes- each 18 holes, which have always been in amazing condition each time I played there. The layout is challenging to all levels of golfers, yet enjoyable for even amateur golfers, with stunning views in any weather. The club’s facilities are also amazing, offering spa, massage and sauna which can help you unwind and relax if your golf game has left you a little frustrated- a feeling I’m sure all golfers know too well!
The best thing about a golf holiday in Phuket is that you can relax on any of the many fantastic beaches around the island afterwards. Mai Khao and Nai Yang are beautiful, not overly touristy, and offer great water sport activities if you’re feeling adventurous. After a big day of golf and beaches, I’m always ready for some of local Thai food, especially fresh Phuket seafood. Of all the Asian countries I visit, I by far enjoy the food in Thailand the most. Some dishes you find from small street stalls are so authentic, delicious and unbelievably cheap. And for special dinners in Mai Khao, nothing beats Chaam Restaurant or nearby Sea.Fire.Salt.
I’m sure readers will agree that once they’ve visited Phuket for its golf courses, cuisine and amazing beaches they will want to return as soon as possible.

Hi Jack,
Can you give me some tips on chipping.
Anantara Maldives = amazing place
Hi Daniel,
Try to visualise the shot before hand and make the practice swing really precise. Technique wise, soft hands and keeping the hands in front of the club head are the main keys!! Plenty of practice with this and I’m sure your chipping will greatly improve!
Thanks for your comment,
Best Regards,
Jack
